WELCOME TO BROADWAY MEMORIES: MUSIC AND THE STARS

Broadway Memories was a public radio program that ran from 2004 to 2006 on WFYI 90.1FM in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Each week the program spotlighted composers and lyricists of the classic days of Broadway.  Engineered by Pembroke Moreland, the show had a faithful following and had started to extend its listenership to additional markets before its untimely end.  This website serves to archive the show and serve as a focused portfolio of Pembroke Moreland’s engineering.

WHAT IS BROADWAY MEMORIES?

Broadway Memories is a radio show focusing on the halcyon days of prolific composers such as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Frank Loesser, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Cy Coleman, Lerner & Loewe, Lorenz Hart and other geniuses of days gone by. The host of Broadway Memories, Gary Hofmeister, is a former professional actor/singer, jeweler and radio talk show host with a passion for Broadway theatre known as musical comedy. Also making special guest appearances will be Broadway authority extraordinaire Bob Young, the former general manager of Starlight Musicals, Inc. Bob has prepared shows that tour the world with the biggest stars in the business. Together, their knowledge of music and theatre is encyclopedic and they have a passion to share it with listeners who are also captivated by its magic. The program is an hour of incredible music interspersed with pertinent commentary that brings the great composers, songs, stars, and general history of the “Golden Days” of Broadway to your living room.
